Hywel's Previews and Predictions Div 1 North Saturday 28th January KO 2-30

Jack Frost made his first appearance of the season last week accounting for a couple of postponements but the remaining matches saw Nant extend their lead at the top to seven points following an epic victory at Pwllheli and Rhuthun success at home against Llandudno moved them out of the relegation zone. Bro returned to winning ways with a win at Cae Dolawel against COBRA. Abergele are sill looking for that elusive league success narrowly losing out to Bethesda at Pentre Mawr.

Bethesda who have only one league success at Dol Ddafydd this season host 6th place Mold. The visitors , frozen out last week ,are going well and will be keen to reverse the smash and grab 18-16 defeat at Wrexham Road earlier in the season. Not easy to call as on form Mold have it, but Pesda have improved of late and it could be close again. The visitors may have the edge.

Third placed Caernarfon welcome 7th placed Llandudno. The Cofis have been out of action for three weeks but won comfortably 44-12 at Maesdu Road. Tudno have lost their last two matches and need to get back to winning ways but the Cofis may prove too strong on Saturday.

Current Champions Pwllheli travel to Meifod to face COBRA who have slipped to 11th position in the League. The champions go into this match on the back of their first defeat in all comps this season against Nant in a memorable encounter witnessed by a huge crowd at Bodegroes last Saturday. COBRA played well without reward last time out going down at Bro and will battle all the way to upset the form book.
Away win.

Bro (5th) make the journey down the A470 this time to Brookfield Road to take on Colwyn Bay.(8th). The reverse fixture was a cracking game 32-28 which went to the wire with Bro taking the points. Bay have been redundant for last three weeks following last weeks' cancellation. Bro's forward power could hold the key here and dictate the outcome. Away Win.

Its a top v bottom clash at Pant Carw when league leaders Nant face bottom club Abergele. Nant inflicted a heavy defeat on the visitors earlier in the season and last week played their best rugby of the season in defeating Pwllheli. Hard ask for Gele who will give their all but there is only one winner here.

An interesting encounter at Rhuthun when 4th place Bala are the visitors. The home side are showing improved form with a good win against Llandudno last Saturday and have eased themselves out of the relegation zone. Free scoring Bala who won corresponding match 46-0 are a very useful outfit and will be favourites albeit in a close match.
