ABERGELE U11'S V NANT CONWY U11'S

Abergele under 11s were short of one or two players as they regroup for the season so a few Under 10s stepped up to allow the game to take place. Nant started fast and hard with some heavy attacks coming at the home side but the defence held well and some real effective tackling from Thomas Taylor and Harry Gilmore kept the opposition at bay. Gele held well on their own line but a couple of panic passes allowed Nant to break the deadlock. Nant got a couple of tries ahead but Gele re grouped well to come back into the game, Prolific twins Alfie and Freddie Banning were a constant thorn in Nant’s side attacking at pace and scoring a couple of tries to keep Gele in the game. Kick offs were a new skill for the U11’s along with lineouts and competition at the scrum but Gele coped well with twins Harvey and Hayden Meyers taking the high ball well and beating the first man every time. Ethan Hall got into the game well with some really dominant forward running but again rucking was an issue allowing the ball to be turned over but Cari Evans who was consistent as ever followed Ethan’s example with hard running of her own. Dylan Williams brave as ever distributed the ball superbly at 9 and more than did his fair share in defence and Luke Marshall was supporting well hitting rucks better to allow Dylan to play the ball out. U10s players Bobby Barnaby, Aidan Herndlhofer, Bailey Davies, Ffion Williams all more than held their own against a good Nant outfit.

Lots to take from the game and lots to work on but the team going forward should be pleased with the progress and look forward to better results in the season to come.
