Abergele under 10s travelled to Bangor for a game on a very cold morning but came away with a well deserved and long awaited victory. Missing some key players due to other commitments Gele travelled with only 9 players but showed some real grit and determination along with some much improvement in all areas from their training sessions. From the off the Gele defence was on top form with Meyers twins Harvey and Hayden leading the way stopping every Bangor attack and tackling anything that got hold of the ball. Joining them in an impressive defensive display was George Clemence who even though plays week in and out against older players shows bravery beyond his years. From Abergele's first attack came the opening try, some good work from the backs allowed Aidan Herndlhofer to fly down the wing being stopped short but the support players rucked well allowing Archie Macbain to crash through several defenders to score his first try in Gele colours, Harvey Meyers adding the conversion.
The defence was again too strong for the home side and Gele forced the knock on, some good control at the back of the scrum from Olivia Maddocks allowed Kian Fazackerley playing in a new role of scrum half passed ball out to the backs gaining some good territory before Troy Fazackerley used his trademark strong runs to crash over the line for Gele's try number 2, Hayden Meyers adding the conversion. Bangor came back into the game in the second half with some poor tackling allowing them to score a converted try. Gele didn't let their heads drop though, from the back of another scrum a nice switch from the Meyers team in the middle of the park set Brychan Hughes free and he weaved through a number of defenders setting up a ruck for again another backs move that Aidan Herndlhofer finished off with some nice pace out wide, Harvey Meyers adding the extra 2. After another Bangor try the game finished as it started with Gele well on top putting pressure on the home side before being taken out just short of the line. The Home side tried to run it out from their try line but after a fumble the menacing George Clemence dived onto the ball to score but the try was disallowed and final whistle blown.

A great performance from the Gele youngsters and a much wanted victory to boost moral and confidence and it showed that the hard work in training is really paying off.

Player of the week - Kian Fazackerley
Man of steel/Braveheart - George Clemence
