TICKET UPDATE

Reminder

Please find below an update from the WRU outlining the process for refunds for the Postponed Wales v Scotland match and the latest on the Autumn Series.

Postponed Wales v Scotland ticketing process

Many Clubs and supporters have been requesting updates on refunds and at the time of writing, the date for the potential re-arranged fixture has not been confirmed.  Appreciating that should crowds be permitted in line with Government advice, it may well be in a socially distanced manner and therefore the capacity and ticketing arrangements would need to be revised.

We can also inform you that Principality Stadium will remain as a hospital until late Autumn and the WRU are proud to be playing their part in supporting Wales in the battle against Covid–19.

As a result, we have taken the decision that we can no longer wait for the dates to be confirmed and tickets ordered by Clubs for this fixture will be automatically cancelled and a refund will be issued by the WRU Finance Department, allowing Clubs to provide refunds to members.  We anticipate that all refunds will be processed and received by Clubs by Friday 31 July.

Note - Any Club members who purchased tickets that were assigned by the Allocation Manager Portal will be contacted by the WRU and will be offered the option of a refund directly.

When you are contacting Club members regarding their Wales v Scotland tickets after the further communication indicated above, you may wish to consider the option can be given for them to either claim a refund or support your Club with a donation of the ticket value.

Autumn Series

Currently, the fixture scheduling for the Autumn Series is not finalised, but we can confirm the games will not be played at Principality Stadium, and as above, once there is clarity, we will inform Clubs.  Planning is also underway to understand the impact of social distancing on crowds and calculations indicate that this could reduce a stadium’s capacity by two thirds and so in this scenario we are reviewing the options as to how tickets would be distributed.  In addition, we are also reviewing the possibility of implementing digital tickets being delivered to a smart phone to assist with adhering to post-Covid-19 stadium culture and to also understand who is in each seat for security and communications reasons and also help fulfil the potential need to support the Government Track and Trace scheme.  As soon as we are able to update Clubs on the conclusions of these workings, we will advise.
